The Frontera Fund of Lacey and Larkin and How Immigrants Are Getting a Second Chance

One of the biggest allies of human rights attorneys nowadays is the Frontera Fund, created by Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin. The Lacey & Larkey Frontera Fund has already invested in many advocacy groups and allowed them to keep defending American citizens for years.

The Fund started when the duo, who already had experience in the legal field, began using their settlement money to fund other groups of lawyers who were advocating for human and civil rights.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkey knows how hard it is to begin your own law office nowadays, and their investment allows for these groups to have a chance in the market.

Anyone who is in the human rights, civil rights, migrants’ rights or any other field related can be rewarded with the funding of the two philanthropists.

Their funding capital is not small as well, with a $3.75 million settlement money in total, they have been increasingly helping the human rights specialization since they were arrested in 2007. Having been sent to jail by a sheriff named Joe Arpaio. They were unjustifiably arrested, mainly because of a deficit on the local migrants’ rights of that local county. Since then, they made their Fronter Fund’s primary objective to help other professionals in the same area.

Michael and Jim experienced in their skin the preconception that exists in some parts of the U.S., and, by funding lawyer groups that defend people who are suffering from illegal abuse of power, they are making sure that this kind of problem becomes less common as time passes.

Recently, the Lacey & Larkin Frontera Fund released news that a few federal prosecutors are reopening more than 1,300 cases of immigrants who were sent back to their homes or arrested under Donald Trump’s orders as the U.S. President. These deportation cases are being reconsidered because of some federal law enforcers who believe that Trump’s exaggerated deportation spree would be harmful to the country’s future.

Different from Ex-President Obama’s policy for immigrants, Donald Trump was not saving any immigrant that was illegal, while the last President was even allowing immigrants who were already a few years in the country to stay there if they were not posing any sign of threat to the American nation. Learn more about Michael Lacey:

Becuase of Trump’s policy, many families are split in half, while women and children are allowed to stay in the country and men are sent back to their respective homelands, many immigrants become really poor individuals, which is also detrimental to the nation’s future.

The cases are being reopened, and this seems to be great news for everyone involved or not, as the United States will only get prejudice from not allowing these people from entering the country.

Now, Lacey & Larkey are acting with their entire potential, funding migrants’ rights lawyers who are helping analyze these cases with the federal court. With the Frontera Fund’s support, professionals in the legal area are optimistic about the future of the nation.

It is time to look at the activism area of our existence and the life experience of other part of the world too. I guess can make it clear and concise that if there is human rights violation in some part of the world, it implies that the world is not free. It therefore means that every real progressive free man must seek the freedom of others as well.
